Wallonia Ecology
Subsidies of up to 50% for ecological investments
Companies (SMEs and large companies) that carry out an investment programme to make production or operations more environmentally friendly can benefit from subsidies of up to 50%. The premiums are intended to encourage companies to invest in environmental protection or sustainable energy use.
Investments aimed at environmental protection, repairing or preventing damage to the physical environment or natural resources, or promoting the rational use of these resources, must enable the company to exceed existing Community standards. SMEs are also allowed to carry out an investment programme allowing early adaptation to future standards, provided that the investments are completed more than three years (between 1 and 3 years for small enterprises) before the date of entry into force of the standard.
Sustainable energy use is achieved for the following measures
- the reduction of energy consumption in the production process
- the development of energy from renewable sources
- the development of high efficiency cogeneration plants.
Not only installations and equipment can be subsidised, but also the necessary land and buildings and the expenses related to technology transfer (licences, patents, etc.).
The aid is calculated on the basis of the additional costs of the measures and can amount to between 6% and 50% of the eligible amount. A minimum investment of 25,000 euros (excluding VAT) must be guaranteed.
Please note that all applications for subsidies must be submitted before the first firm order is placed...
