Vetex bouwt eerste solventvrije fabriek in Europa

Het IWT kende vroeger innovatiesteun toe aan Vetex, textielcoater uit Ingelmunster, gespecialiseerd in chemische coatings en laminaten om een stof van specifieke eigenschappen te kunnen voorzien, zoals waterdicht, antistatisch of brandvertragend. Het bedrijf ontwikkelde een superieur membraan dat chirurgisch textiel herbruikbaar maakt. Het boekte er een wereldsucces mee.


IWT: "Momenteel werkt Vetex aan een nieuwe, solventvrije coatinglijn die een alternatief wil zijn voor de omstreden DMF-solvent gebaseerde coatingtechnologie. De nieuwe solventvrije coatinglijn maakt bestaande producten milieuvriendelijker; met deze doorbraaktechnologie bouwt Vetex de eerste solventvrije fabriek in Europa."
